Tell Students How Much You've Helped Them
Everyone knows that when your college or university awards credit for non-traditional learning, such as college credit for military training, credit for professional training at corporations, businesses, or government agencies, or college credit-by-examinations, it really helps students in their pursuit of your degrees. The question is this: Exactly how much does it help them? Our system is designed to automatically calculate the tangible and intangible savings to the students and report it to them in their degree plans.
Here is an example of the savings presented to a student on a degree plan:
Presenting this information on the degree plans is just another way that AutoDP helps your college or university secure the commitment of students all the way to cap and gown. It is a way of saying that your institution is looking out for their best interests and seek ways to help them save time and money.
This is a message that your college or university may want to convey on your website to attract new students. The system tracks the cost savings for all students supported and provides the information in reports that can easily be generated for your use. You may wonder about students who are undecided and ask for three or four degree plans to be created in different subjects. The system then will capture the savings that had been calculated for the optimal degree for the student (the one which allowed maximum application of the credit he or she previously earned), and ignore the calculations that were generated for the other degrees for that student. Only one degree plan counts per student when determining the overall savings for the students supported. What happens if the student chooses to pursue a degree that was not the optimal degree as far as application of existing credit is concerned, but offered a curriculum that better accommodated his or her desires? Simply put a check in the "Selected" box and the system will refer to it when calculating savings. (More importantly, when advisors meet with the student in the future, they will clearly see which of the several degree plans stored in the system was chosen by the student.)
Here is an example of the reports that can be generated by the system:
